STAINLESS STEEL FINISHES

Seawin manufactures a full line of standard stainless-steel finishes designed to coordinate our shower door hardware with other commonly used stainless steel bathroom finishes and brands.

Created using type 304 stainless steel base material, the hardware finishes are applied over the stainless steel, providing good mechanical and corrosion-resisting properties. Our stainless steel finishes are both appealing to the aesthetics of the fixtures while also providing improved durability and ease of maintenance, ensuring they maintain their shine and functionality for years to come.

Seawin employs a variety of finishing techniques to achieve the desired finish result including:

  • Milling
  • Polishing
  • Brushing
  • Electroplating
  • Powder coating

It is important to consider the following factors when choosing your stainless-steel finish as each can be impacted by the type of finish selected.

Factors to consider when choosing a stainless-steel finish:

  • Ease of Maintenance
  • Volume of Usage
  • Aesthetic Compatibility
  • Durability and Corrosion Resistance

ALUMINUM FINISHES

Seawin employs a variety of aluminum finishing techniques meant to coordinate our hardware with other commonly used modern bathroom décor finishes and brands.

Each aluminum finish is applied over a high-grade aluminum alloy base, offering unique visual and functional characteristics. In addition to providing the proper aesthetics, aluminum finishing provides additional corrosion and scratch resistance.

Seawin aluminum finishing techniques include:

  • Anodized finishing – improves corrosion and scratch resistance.
  • Brushed finishing - provides a textured look, reducing reflectivity.
  • Powder coating - allows for a wide range of available colors to match your bathroom décor.

GLASS OPTIONS

Seawin glass panels are constructed of tempered glass which offers additional resistance to impact, chipping, or cracking. A variety of options are available when choosing the right glass for your project.

Tempered glass (or safety glass) is heat-treated, making it harder than regular annealed glass. By design, when tempered glass is broken or shattered, it disintegrates into small, rounded pieces, helping protect from the hazards of large shards of sharp glass debris.

Nanoshield™ - Many of our glass panels are treated with Seawin’s proprietary Nanoshield™ protection, a glass coating that repels water, offering additional protection, clarity, and ease of maintenance for your shower glass.

Options to consider when choosing glass panels:

Thickness - our glass panels come in a variety of sizes and thicknesses. The thickness of the panel will depend on the size of the panel, its function within the bathroom, and the type of door selected. Seawin offers 1/4” (6mm), 5/16” (8mm) 3/8” (10mm), and 1/2” (12mm) options to meet a variety of bathroom conditions.

Glazing – we offer a variety of glass panel options for shower door and cove panel products, allowing you to customize the look and feel of your bathroom shower enclosures.

The type of glass you choose can greatly affect the aesthetics, functionality, privacy, and maintenance of your shower enclosure. Each option has its own advantages, allowing you to choose the glass that best fits your preferences and needs.

  • Regular Clear – can provide a bright, open feel to a bathroom environment.
  • Low-iron glass – also known as ultra clear glass, low-iron glass provides superior clarity, color accuracy, and durability over regular glass, which can appear to have a green hue (particularly as the glass thickness increases).
  • Acid Etch- this glazing is applied to the outside portion of the glass while keeping the glass clear on the inside. Acid Etch, like the effect of frosted glass, is smoother, provides greater privacy, and can be applied in combination with other glazing options.
  • Gray – the dark hue of gray glass allows for better privacy while allowing some light to flow through, providing a contemporary, modern bathroom aesthetic.
  • Frosted – semi-opaque glass that allows light through while offering privacy within the shower and may hide streaks better than clear glass.
  • Narrow and Wide Reed – also known as fluted or ribbed glass, the effect allows for greater privacy while allowing light to flow through the vertical effect of the reed.
  • Gradient – creates a transition on the glass from an opaque effect (like acid etch or frosted) to clear glass, usually from the bottom to the top, allowing for privacy at the bottom portion giving way to clear glass on top.
  • Gridient – adds a grid pattern to the glass with the addition of mullions or ceramic frit to the glass. The mullions can be printed on the glass (for ease of maintenance) or created using aluminum mullions placed over the glass.
